Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 9 years’ experience as a digital forensic examiner in performing both mobile and non-mobile analysis with a bachelor’s in science; 7 Years with Masters. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of management/supervisory/team lead experience.
- Possess at least one of the following approved forensic certifications:
- SANS (GCFE, or GASF)
- IACIS (CFCE, or CMFE)
- NCFI (BCERT, or MDE)
- Cellebrite (CCO+CCPA and CCME)
- OpenText (EnCE)
- Possesses at least one additional vendor or vendor-neutral certification is preferred. This certification may come from (but is not limited to) a certification from the above or from of following:’
- DC3 Cyber Crime Center (CDFE, CDMC)
- Cellebrite (CCO+CCPA, CASA, CCME)
- X-Ways (X-PERT)
- Oxygen Forensics (OFC)
- Magnet Forensics (MCFE)
- Demonstrated leadership with the experience in performing mobile and non-mobile analysis utilizing forensic software tools such as Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, Oxygen, and with mobile advanced extraction hardware and software tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Apple iOS and Android-based operating systems, Android Debug Bridge (ADB), iTunes, iCloud, Mac and Windows Backups.
- Experience writing detailed reports that translate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated critical, creative, and sound decision-making skills and the situational awareness to know when to involve program leadership for guidance.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization and to deal tactfully, courteously, and professionally with CIF end-customers.
- Ability to travel for on-scene seizures of digital evidence, training, and/or testimony.
- Willing to participate in presentations, and speaking engagements, with Government and Peraton leadership as the audience.

Peraton is seeking to hire an experienced Digital Forensics Technical Project Manager/Supervisor for its' Federal Strategic Cyber Program.

Program Overview:
Peraton’s Federal Strategic Cyber Program provides comprehensive support across technical, engineering, data analytics, cybersecurity, management, operational, logistical, and administrative domains. The program advises and assists the Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate in protecting global cyber infrastructure—including networks, systems, information, and mobile devices—while proactively identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats.
Role Overview:
Peraton is seeking a Digital Forensics Technical Project Manager/Supervisor to lead and oversee digital forensics operations within the Cyber Investigations Facility (CIF). This role combines technical subject matter expertise with program management responsibilities, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and modernization of forensic capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Staff Management:
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on digital evidence seizure, imaging, acquisition, analysis, and reporting
- Manage contractor staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies (timekeeping, leave/training requests, workday requirements)
- Provide daily/weekly updates to Government Leadership (CTI/CIF)
- Share program management responsibility for CIF task execution
- Provide guidance and technical oversight for CIF program efforts
- Initiate and manage CIF projects per customer requirements and PWS
- Act as liaison between Peraton PMO and Government Leadership (CIF)
- Develop and collaborate on 3–5 year modernization plans (milestones, timelines, budgets, technologies)
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and all-hands events
- Administer annual/semi-annual performance reviews
- Serve as Program Task Manager backfill when required
CIF Laboratory Operations:
- Direct oversight of the Digital Imaging section; serve as Mobile Imaging SME
- Update/validate the Digital Forensics Lab SOP manual annually
- Conduct process mapping of CIF service requests lifecycle
- Propose and implement performance measures to identify and resolve bottlenecks
- Recommend and implement process improvements with updated documentation
CIF Division-Level Support:
- Accompany government employees as directed to provide technical advisory support
- Review/evaluate new technologies and provide feedback to forensic software vendors
- Stay current on industry trends in digital forensics and network intrusion investigations
CIF Quality Assurance:
- Conduct internal audits to identify procedural improvements
- Ensure adherence to industry-standard quality control processes for accuracy and reliability
CIF Program Oversight:
Provide oversight and technical advisory for operational requirements, including:
- Advanced Digital Imaging and Forensic Analysis
- Data Integrity, Chain of Custody, and Compliance
