What you'll be doing
To have overall accountability for successful project delivery including initiation, planning design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out. Change agent that provides management, leadership and inspires a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a common goal.
- Hold periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL.
- Ensure the team maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc).
- Prepare both internal/external reports and consult with stakeholders.
- Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles.
- Ensure reports provide relevant information which enables decisions which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall strategy.
- Develop, implement, and update resource allocations plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests.
- Produce plans for the team to achieve goals/aspirations.
- Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent, and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating, and empowering the team.
- Ensure production of operational milestones reflect expert schedule and customer expectations.
- Establish robust change control process.
Who we're looking for
- Experience in an Infrastructure or Highways Project Manager role.
- Able to demonstrate a history of project delivery.
- Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts.
- Proficient in commercial/project management communications.
- Experience in implementing safe systems of work.
- Effective team management skills which empower, influence, and inspire others to build effective teams.
- Experience of working on a variety of project types.
- Member of a professional management body i.e. APM.
- Proficient on O365.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Formal qualification (BSc/MSc in Management/Construction or experience equivalent.
- CSCS and SMSTS
