About the role:
As Venue Development Director, Project Management, you’ll join our Venue Development team to drive consistency, structure, and performance across a portfolio of major venue projects throughout Australia and New Zealand. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead external project management teams to deliver multiple world-class venues, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Reporting directly to the SVP, Venue Development ANZ, you’ll oversee project governance, planning, and performance across a diverse portfolio of developments, while fostering alignment between external consultants, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership. Your ability to bring structure, foresight, and clear communication to complex, multi-stakeholder projects will be key to success.

This is a 12-month fixed term role, open to candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
What you’ll be doing:
- Project Leadership: Oversee and coordinate external project managers across multiple venue developments to ensure consistent delivery and adherence to project standards.
- Governance & Oversight: Develop and implement project frameworks, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and timelines.
- Planning & Reporting: Establish and maintain project schedules, risk registers, and reporting tools within systems such as ClickUp or MS Project.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the central liaison between internal teams, external consultants, and the SVP, ensuring alignment on objectives and progress.
- Risk & Issue Management: Monitor milestones, identify emerging risks, and manage change processes to maintain delivery integrity.
- Financial Accountability: Track budgets, oversee cost management and invoicing, and ensure financial discipline across projects.
- Consultant Coordination: Lead due diligence processes and collaborate with architects, engineers, and other specialists to ensure compliance and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Support the SVP in enhancing project processes, tools, and governance for ongoing operational excellence.
What you’ll bring:
- Extensive Experience: Proven project management background, ideally in venue or entertainment development environments.
- Leadership Strength: Skilled at managing external teams and consultants across multiple concurrent projects.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate challenges, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain delivery momentum.
- Technical Understanding: Solid grasp of venue operations, construction principles, and contractual frameworks.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication with confidence to influence at all levels.
- Organisational Excellence: Highly detail-oriented with exceptional planning and analytical capability.
- Tech Proficiency: Experienced in project management software such as ClickUp or MS Project.
- Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Business, Commerce, Law, or Project Management (desirable).
